  5. This adorable little girl came into the gym for her first gymnastics class, she was a little shy but I could tell she had talent! I had the pleasure of coaching Maddie for many years, She was pretty amazing with her beautiful form and smile! Maddie would talk about her cows and her face would light up! I knew she loved them and that was her true passion! I will miss your beautiful spirit!

  6. I first met Maddie when I was ten years old in gymnastics practice. We bonded over the fact that we both showed at the Venango county fair. One of my favorite memories is when we would text each other on our iPods trying to come up with names for the new calves being born on her farm. There are many more memories I have with her but sadly I can’t share them all. When I quit gymnastics in 2018, we grew apart but still tried to stay in contact. By 2020, we had drifted more apart, But I never not considered Maddie my friend. While I can’t say she was my #1 best friend, I can gladly and proudly say she was one the sweetest, goofiest, most hardworking people I ever had the honor of calling my friend. I am so thankful for the opportunity to know you Maddie and I am so internally grateful for your friendship. I will never forget it. I will never forget you.
    Love, Erika

    Many prayers

  8. Loved seeing Maddie on Holly’s Facebook page winning ribbon’s with here prize cow’s in the 4-H program and all her gymnastic wins. Maddie seem to us as the whole package, very bright young lady. An angel in heaven!

  9. My most sincere heartfelt condolences. May you find peace and comfort in your memories of a most incredible young lady.

  10. Maddie was a blessing. Every time I think of her, I see that beautiful smile. Quiet, studious, intelligent, capable, kind,…I could go on forever. I feel blessed to have had her as a student and to have gotten to know her. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
    Wendy Riley

  11. This young lady was an integral part of the FHS yearbook staff who was hard working, never complained, yet knew how to laugh and enjoy the fun times too. What an inspiration she was to all of us…sending love and strength to you all. 💜

  12. Maddie always had a beautiful smile on her face! She was such a hard worker and loved to be around her animals! She was a great leader to the kids at 4-H. She will never be forgotten and missed terribly❤️

  13. Maddie, we didn’t know you well but you were the definition of 4H. Kind, fun loving, dedicated beyond belief to your animals. You were always kind to everyone and determined to succeed in and out of the ring. You will be missed dearly inside and outside of the 4H community.
    Sending love and prayers,
    Tehya Hall and Bianca Aronhalt

  14. Maddie where do I even begin. You were truly one of the most remarkable people I’ve ever met. You had such a sweet, kind, gentle soul. The memories we have together are never going to be forgotten. Like the one time we went mini golfing, and I could not stop laughing. You’d hit the ball 100mph and somehow end up on the the hole behind us. One time I spent literally an hour with you trying to get so many clumps of cow crud out of your dairy cows hair. I don’t want to bring up bowling only because you’d literally beat me every single time. There are so many good memories I had with you. I’m sorry there just couldn’t be more. I’m so grateful that I could help you when you needed it the most. I was always there for you and now I know you’ll be watching down looking over me. Madison Rose I’ll miss you endlessly. I’ll never forget the sound of your voice or your laugh. I know your up there showing cows winning grand champion in every division. You’ll never be forgotten I promise you that❤️.

  15. Maddie was the first friend I met when I became a Franklin Starburst. She was so welcoming and right from the beginning we related with each other. My favorite memories of Maddie were when the coaches would tell her to put more enthusiasm and energy into her floor routine then she would do it again but it would look the same. She danced to the beat of her own drum and was so confident in herself. After a while of doing gymnastics, Maddie and I were the only two in our group so we had a lot of laughs and fun memories together. She helped me get back from a pretty bad injury. When I wasn’t able to do anything in the gym I was living vicariously through Maddie and we made some awesome routines together. Gymnastics is one of the most mentally draining sports and I never saw Maddie get upset or cry over a bad routine because she knew she could do better the next time. Maddie left the gym a few years later but we still stayed in touch every day since then. She was one of my best friends inside and outside the gym. Maddie was always great at giving advice and could make you laugh when you needed it. She would make me laugh even when I didn’t need it. I promise to keep Maddie’s memory alive in the gym. Maddie will never be forgotten and will forever be missed.

    Gone, but never forgotten

  16. We don’t even know where to start. Maddie, you were a true blessing and a great friend. We will miss your contagious laugh and your heartfelt singing. There was never a dull moment with you. One that is unforgettable is the karaoke concert, knowing Maddie, you were the star of the show, screaming country songs with your whole heart and soul. We’ll never forget the memories from every 4-H event to every track meet. You were a beautiful person inside and out. We’ll always remember the impact you had on our lives. You were unapologetically you and we loved you so much for that.

Rest easy sweet girl, you’ll be missed.
    -Eden and Olivia

  17. The love of a child is timeless. We pray for Madison’s family during this time of grief.

  18. Maddie was the true definition of a 4-Her. I have many memories of her leading meetings and how the members looked up to her. My most recent memory was last week at Christmas when she asked me a trick question about farming and that smile on her face as she was waiting to hear my response will always be remembered. Maddie you will forever be missed.

  19. I’m at a loss of words Maddie. I am so blessed that Jr Holstein brought us together. You had the biggest heart and the most contagious laugh and smile. The memories we made at Louisville, fairs and cow shows, conventions, and all other Jr Holstein activities, are memories that I will hold in my heart forever. I’m forever thankful you asked me to help you guys out at the Venango Fair a few years ago. I truly believe that it made us closer friends. We would still laugh to this day about how you have to stay out of the way when you water Snow Babe because she is always so thirsty. Rest easy up there girlfriend! I know Hooter was excited to see you! Until we meet again. You’ll always be in our hearts down here.
With all my love, Lauryn ❤️

  20. Kids like Maddie are the reason people want to become teachers. Such a kind, hardworking, and all-around awesome person. You will be greatly missed.

  21. Maddie was a joy to work with in school and an even bigger joy to coach. I will always remember the enthusiasm she put into all she did. When I struggle to understand why some leave us so soon, I remember words my Uncle once told me. “Whenever you are choosing your bouquet, you pick the most beautiful and vibrant flowers. God does the same.” Praying that your family finds strength, comfort, and healing in this time of need.

  22. I had the privilege of teaching Maddie when she very first started gymnastics. At that point, I had been coaching gymnastics for 30 years and worked with hundreds of gymnasts. However, as soon as I met Maddie, she stood out from the rest. Not only due to her natural talent with gymnastics, but more so due to her enthusiasm, her kindness, and her sweet nature. I feel very blessed to have had the opportunity to spend some time with Maddie before she moved on to the higher level of team gymnastics. Maddie’s positive example will continue to be an inspiration to all who knew her. It is so heartbreaking that such a special person has left us so soon. Our prayers are with her friends and family always.

  23. I judged the venango county fair dairy show a couple years ago and had the privilege to judge Madison animals as well as judge showmanship. She was such a talented showman! I think she won every class she was in that day and just seemed to be the most humble likeable person that you could ever be around. So sorry for your loss your family will be in our prayers.

  24. Dear Family,
Words often fail at times like these.
That’s when God listens to our hearts,
    and His love rains down.
Keeping each of you in our prayers.
    Bob & Nichelle Rodgers

  25. I always remember Maddie smiling no matter what was happening ! Kyle is one of Kelan’s best friends and he loved his sister so much!

  26. Q: How would you describe Madison to someone who had never met them?

A: Even though I never had the pleasure of teaching Maddie at Utica or Sandycreek, she was always around and I got to know the sweet girl who was always smiling and had a great personality. She was a big part of the Utica Elementary family and then the Sandycreek family also. She was a joy to be around and the world is missing a great talented girl with a big personality. I’m sure she would’ve done great things. Gone way too soon. Thinking of the family at this very difficult time. Sending my love to all!

  27. I was blessed to have Maddie as a student for the past few years. She was bright, fun, and beautiful inside & out. When I think of her, I see her “smiling eyes” that brightened up the room and twinkled as though she had a fun story to tell. My deepest sympathy goes out to her family and friends. Jill Adams (Señora)

  28. I love you to the moon and back Maddie. I will forever miss our country karaoke and your beautiful smile and bubbly laugh. I will never forget how you always said “sugar biscuits” when you were mad, and sharing a pod while it was raining at track invites. I will forever remember your smile and how happy you were when you made a new PR in pole-vault. You are truly one of the happiest, kindest souls I have ever met. You never failed to make me smile and you were so incredibly intelligent. You were a leader and so many people looked up to you. You were so involved in the community and you will be missed by many, I love you my sweet girl. 🤍

  29. I have been a substitute teacher for Many year in the Franklin Schools. That is to say I have known Maddy since her early days at Sandycreek Elementary. Any day Maddy was in my classroom was a good day.

  30. Family and Friends of Madison Rose Johnson,

May God comfort and support you in the time of your loss. Our prayers and thoughts are with you.

“Let not your heart be troubled; ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions. If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” John 14: 1 -3

May God Bless and Keep You,

    Lou, Susan and Bethany Slautterback
