Mabel L. Pletcher

MEADVILLE " Mabel L. Pletcher, 93, formerly of Brawley Avenue, Meadville, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2011, at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community. Born in Greenville on Jan. 15, 1917, she was a daughter of Paul L. and Nellie M. Smith Axtell. She married Ralph W. Pletcher on March 31, 1940. He passed away March 19, 2001. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed bowling and gardening. She worked at the Soup Kitchen. She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross, Wesbury and Meadville Medical Center. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Survivors include friends, Ron and Sue Kilburn of Meadville; and nieces, Carol Benz and Donna Moyer of New York. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two sisters, Helen Loutzenhiser and Cecil Moyer. Calling hour will be Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Roofner-Collins-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 544 Chestnut St., Meadville. The funeral and committal service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dr. Brian Jensen of First Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Meadville. The family requests memorials be made to First Presbyterian Church, 890 Liberty St., Meadville, Pa. 16335.
