Louise Kightlinger, age 94, of Franklin, died Saturday, June 13, 2026 at the Collins House in Franklin.

A daughter of Benjamin and Bertha Gates Shope she was born October 5, 1931 in Flinton, PA.

On June 8, 1957 Louise married Harold Kightlinger, who preceded her in death on June 21, 2009.

Mrs. Kightlinger had been employed by the Franklin Area School District working in the cafeteria for over 23 years. She had also been employed by Joy Manufacturing in the Accounting and Payroll Department for over 6 years.

Louise enjoyed many things including playing cards with all generations of her family, reading the Bible and praying for everyone, traveling with her husband, spending winters in Florida, the sunshine, birdwatching and caramel frappes from McDonalds.

Surviving is a son, Randy Kightlinger and wife Sharon of Cooperstown; a daughter, Lori Ziegler and husband Gary of Kane; a step-daughter, Mary Jane Schroeder and husband Tom of Pleasantville; four grandchildren, Ashley McGuire and husband Robert, Michenzie Kightlinger, Brittany Ziegler, Seth Ziegler; two step-grandchildren, Renee Turner and husband Dave, Tara Nason and husband Conrad; five great grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, eight brothers, a sister and a step-great grandchild.

Friends will be received from 5 to 7 pm Monday and from 12 noon to 1pm Tuesday at the Gardinier-Warren Funeral Home, 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin. Funeral services will be held at 1pm Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Fred Frye, Pastor of the Shamburg Christian Church of God officiating. Interment will be made in Graham Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Collins House, 491 Allegheny Blvd., Franklin, PA 16323 or to the Cooperstown Community Church of God, PO Box 148, Cooperstown, PA 16317.
