Louise Elizabeth Volna

Louise Elizabeth Volna, 87, of Meadville passed away on March 26, 2022 at Meadville Medical Center. Born on December 19, 1934 in Natrona Heights, PA, she was the daughter of the late Leon D. and Mariana (Korobczyk) Furmanski. After graduating from HarBrack High School, she then studied to get her nursing license where she ended up working with the Meadville Medical Center for many years as a nurses aid and ward clerk. On September 5, 1953, she married the love of her life, John D. Volna. He preceded her in death on July 2, 2001. Louise enjoyed quilting, sewing, knitting and crocheting. She was president of the Meadville football boosters, secretary for the Meadville wrestling boosters and was instrumental in starting the Tool City Youth Wrestling Tournament. She loved her family but most of all, she enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Anita Volna of Meadville, Pamela Dinsmore of Meadville, Judy Martin (Mike) of Cochranton, and David Volna (Lisa) of Meadville and Dan Volna (Susan) of Meadville; her 18 grandchildren; and her 9 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her daughter-in-law, Betty Volna, her sister-in-law Paulette Maust of Carnegie, PA and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, John M. Volna, her grandson, Ronald Dinsmore, Jr., her son-in-law, Ronald Dinsmore and her 3 brothers and 4 sisters. Family and friends are welcome to call on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Ryan M. Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville. Funeral services for Louise will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 649 Park Avenue, Meadville on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at 11:00 am with Pastor Ben Travis officiating. Louise will be laid to rest next to her husband at Greendale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church, 649 Park Avenue, Meadville, PA 16335.
