Louis L. Baker, 75, of Palmer Avenue, Franklin passed away at 4:15 a.m. on Thursday March 8, 2012 at his residence. He was born on September 10, 1936 in Franklin, PA and was the son of the late Frank Baker and Amy Kelly. Louis was married to Margaret Baker, who survives. Mr. Baker was the owner and operator of L&G Baker Concrete and Masonry. Louis had also worked as a bartender at the Franklin Moose Club for 26 years prior to his retirement in 2006. He was a member of the Franklin Moose Club, V.F.W., and Eagles. He enjoyed golfing, watching horse shows, and watching his grandchildren play baseball and softball. He was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and NASCAR. He was a member in the Eagles golf league. In addition to his wife he is survived by his sons; Gary L. Baker and wife Adrian, and Darin L. Baker and wife Bridget, his daughters Gina D. McCullon and husband Michael, and Michele M. Rust and husband Timothy all of Franklin. He is also survived by his brother Cecil Edward Baker of Sugar Lake, Pa, his sister Ann Burkett and husband John, and sister-in-law Linda Baker of Franklin. His grandchildren; Nicole Ward and Husband Jason, Laine McCullon and her fiance D.J. Bookwater, Jr., Taylor McCullon, Ashley Stafiej and husband Michael, Kayla Peterson and husband Ryan, Dylan and Amber Rust, Bianca Meehan and husband Timothy, Augustus "Gus" Baker, and David Aites. His two Step-grandchildren Jayma Marbich and husband Dan, and Bob Montgomery and fiancee Kelly Hesson. Louis is also survived by his great-grandchildren Breana, Gavin and Rachel Ward, and Haley Meahan, and his step-great-grandchildren Ethan and Ella Marbich and Cooper Montgomery. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers Harold, Clifford and Clyde Baker. Family and friends of Louis will be received on Saturday March 10, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Gardinier Funeral Home, 1315 Chestnut St., Franklin. Funeral Services will be held at Gardinier Funeral Home on Sunday, March 11, 2012 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Susan Evans officiating. Interment will be made in Morrison Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to the VNA Foundation, 491 Allegheny Blvd., Franklin, PA 16323. I am sorry to hear about Lou’s passing. It was a shock, I don’t think Grandma would handle it very well, so I will let my sister & Crystal know though. Grandma (Aunt Norma) Did think the world of Lou though. Heaven has another Angel… he’s sitting there with my dad having coffee if they have it up there.. He’ll be sadly missed… My heart & Prayers go out to all of you at this time Love Debbie
So sorry to hear of your loss. Lou was a really great guy, always funny and ready to lend a helping hand and advice. Always remember that God did not promise any of us eternal life, and Lou is now wrapped in his loving and protective arms.
