Lorn S. Dennis

CONNEAUTVILLE " Lorn S. Dennis, 77, formerly of 462 Willow St., Meadville, died Monday, July 5, 2010, at Rolling Fields, Conneautville. Born in Guys Mills on Dec. 25, 1932, he was a son of Asa and Bernice Fisher Dennis. He married Mary Peat on July 18, 1954; she preceded him in death in 1999. He served in the U.S. National Guard. He worked at Heatrex and he worked part-time at Dairy Queen in his later years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, softball, playing horseshoes and bowling. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include a daughter, Karen Hopkins and her husband, Roger, of West Springfield; a son, Rex Dennis and his wife, Mary, of Meadville; a sister, Delores (Peg) Bemis of Pleasantville; three brothers, Larry Dennis of Meadville, Cecil Dennis of Townville and Asa John Dennis of Linesville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Mary Therese Dennis; his wife; three brothers and a sister. Calling hours are today from 5 to 7 p.m. at Roofner-Collins Funeral Home, 544 Chestnut St., Meadville. The funeral and committal service will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor David Brumagin officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Meadville.
