Leslie M. Grover Leslie M. Grover, 60, of Cooperstown, PA, passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca, PA, following a three-month fight with pancreatic cancer. He was born April 22, 1951 in Alton, Illinios, son of the late Clarence and Mary Martha (Robinson) Grover. Mr. Grover graduated from East Alton-Wood River High School and received his Bachelor of Business Degree from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in Edwardsville, Illinois. Les moved to Phoenix, Arizona, where he began his career with Honeywell, spending many years in Albuquerque, New Mexico before completing his 36 year career. Retiring in 2008, Mr. Grover moved to Cooperstown, PA, where he enjoyed restoring his historic home, gardening, bird watching, yard work and becoming a member of his community. Other interest included his dog, Princess, and many feline friends, traveling, craft shows, shopping, cooking, Steelers football, scuba diving, photography, and spending time with his many church and work friends. He was also an active member of the SuperSupra Club. Returning to work in 2009, he worked for Blair Catalog Sales; collected the 2010 census information; and was currently employed with JOY Mining in Franklin, PA, where he loved and treasured many of his co-workers. Mr. Grover was a member of the Hartford Church of Christ in Hartford, Illinois, and was currently worshipping with the family at Cooperstown Presbyterian Church, where he was welcomed and loved by all. He is survived by one sister, Cheryl and her husband, Jerry Allen, of Spring, Texas; sister-in-law, Kathy Grover, of Springfield, MO; one niece, Angie and her husband, Kelly Clark, DDS., of Mt. Zion, Illinois; one nephew, Jason and wife, Jennifer Allen, of Iowa City, Iowa; three great-nephews and one great-niece, all of Mt. Zion, Illinois; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Lindell Grover. A Memorial Service in his honor will be held on Friday, August 26, 2011, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Cooperstown Presbyterian Church, Cooperstown (Venango County), PA.
