Laura Pearl Blauser, 87, of Causeway Drive, Franklin died at 3:50 p.m. on Monday, February 25, 2013 at Sugar Creek Station in Franklin. Born October 22, 1925 in Canal Township, Venango County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Edward and Elda Mayme Hill Ferry. She was married on June 30, 1947 to Wade L. Blauser, and he preceded her in death on September 21, 1987. Mrs. Blauser worked for General Manifold from 1946 to 1947, she worked in the Dietary department at Polk Center from 1956 to 1972, and she began her employment with the I.U.6 Unit in 1976 as a teachers aide until her retirement in 1987. Laura was a member of the Nicklin United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, bowling, crocheting, and watching and feeding the birds. She loved spending time with family, especially during the holidays. Laura is survived by her son Gary Blauser and his wife, Peggy of Utica; three daughters, Shirley (States) Breese of Sandy Lake, Gwen (States) Symons of Cayuga Lake, NY, and Tammy (Blauser) Thomas and her husband, Terry of Franklin; step-son Jim Edwards of Pennsylvania; 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ellis Floyd Ferry and Charles Earl Ferry; an infant sister; and step-son John Edwards. Friends will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin on Thursday, February 28, 2013 from 3-7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2013 at the funeral home with the Rev. Stephanie Thompson of the Nicklin United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will take place in Lupher Chapel Cemetery.
