Kathryn H. YaSenka Kathryn H. YaSenka , 78, of Elk Street, Franklin, passed away at 6:26 p.m. on Friday, February 25, at UPMC Northwest in Seneca. Born January 3, 1933, in Kennedy Twp., Allegheny County, Kathryn was the daughter of Stephen and Elizabeth Handlow, both deceased, and the sister of Robert and Nick Handlow. Kathryn graduated from the University of Pittsburgh. Kathryn was a local real estate broker since 1980 and a teacher by profession. She was part of the small group who worked diligently with the community to list Franklin on the National Register of Historic Places. She enjoyed history, reading, antiques and spending time with her family. Kathryn wrote a "Canning" book, which was bought and published. She was a member of Project Hope, Zonta, Historical Society, National Trust, Franklin's Historical Architectural Review Board, and the Historic Franklin Preservation Association. Kathryn is survived by her children, Steven YaSenka and his wife, Christine, and their four children, August, Rachel, Michelle, and Michael; Johnny YaSenka and his son, Brian, of Clearwater, Florida; Susan YaSenka and her children, Leila, and Adam, of New Mexico; and Robert YaSenka of Denver, Colorado. Funeral Services for Kathryn will be held at the convenience of her family. There will be no public visitation. The Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, is in charge of arrangements. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Venango County Historical Society, 301 South Park Street, Franklin PA 16323 and/or the Venango County Humane Society, P.O.
