Kathleen "Patty" B. Schruers Kathleen "Patty" B. Schruers, 83, of Franklin, passed away at 9:38 p.m. on Friday, April 20, 2012 at UPMC Northwest Medical Center in Seneca. Born, September 19, 1928 in Franklin, Patty was the daughter of the late Wade H. and Hazel Linn Bell. She was married to Richard R. Schruers on May 25, 1985, and he survives. Patty was retired from Penncrest School District where she had been an elementary teacher for 24 years at Randolph E. Mead and Cussewago Elementary Schools. Patty was a member of the Fox Street Church of God in Franklin. She was a volunteer for Toymakers and the Literacy Program. In addition to her husband, Patty is survived by her sons, David G. Cope and his wife, Evie, of Cochranton, Rick L. Schruers of Seneca, David K. Schruers and his wife, Andrea, of Atlanta, Georgia, Steve Schruers of Columbus, Ohio, and Eugene C. Schruers and his wife, Joanne, of Knox; and her daughter, Beth Cope Kosley and her husband, David, of Green Mt. Falls, Colorado. She is also survived by her 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Patty is additionally survived by her sisters, Colleen B. MacArthur of Meadville and Carolyn B. Clark and her husband, Richard, of Franklin; and many special loving nieces, and nephews. Patty was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Bonnie Garmong Flickner. Family and friends will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin on Monday, April 23, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 24 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Phil Conklin of the Ellwood City Church of God officiating, and Rev. Lonnie Wolford, pastor of Fox Street Church of God, assisting . Interment will be in Rockland Cemetery. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Visiting Nurses Foundation (491 Allegheny Blvd., Franklin PA 16323) and/or to Operation Smiles (6435 Tidewater Drive, Norfolk, VA 23509).
