Katherine E. Zilafro

Katherine E. Zilafro, 86, of Franklin died at 11:01 PM ,November 1, 2012 at UPMC-Northwest Seneca. Born July 25, 1926 in Foxburg, PA, Katherine was the daughter of the late Percy and Esther (Byers) Page. She was married to James L. Zilafro on September 22, 1950, who preceded her in death on November 14,1996. Katherine graduated from the Episcopal Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia. She worked as a Registered Nurse for the Franklin and Oil City Hospitals. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Franklin. She enjoyed her family and playing the Dulcimer. Katherine is survived by her son, David Zilafro of Franklin, her daughters; Janice Bukac and her husband James of Oil City and Lori Zilafro of Oil City. She is also survived be her brothers; Gary Page of Las Animas, Colorado and Percy Page Jr. of Glenn Dale, Maryland, and her grandson Alexander James Bukac of San Francisco, California. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her son, James A. Zilafro, her sister, Shirley Gates, and her brother Thomas Page. Family and friends of Katherine will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, on Monday, November 5th, 2012, from 3:00PM - 6:00PM. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 6th, 2012 at St. Johns Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Mother Holly Davis pastor of the St. John's Episcopal Church, officiating. Interment will be in Franklin Cemetery.
