Karen S. Green, 63, of Chestnut Street, Franklin, died on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca. Born April 5, 1949 in Oil City, she was the daughter of Robert E. and Norma J. Brink Reed. During her lifetime, Ms. Green was employed as a hair stylist. Karen is survived by her father, Robert E. Reed of Cooperstown; her three sisters, Linda Kelly and her husband, Larry of Franklin, Debra Simpson and her husband, David of Waynesboro, VA, and Lori Burk and her husband, Daniel of Cooperstown; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Norma J. Reed. In accordance with Karen's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral services. The Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin is handling the arrangements. The family suggests memorials be made to The Caring Place, c/o The Christian Loving Fund, P.O. While talking to Karen one day she told some of her friends I was part of their family. What an honor!! I will miss seeing her smile. May God be with each of you as you walk this path.
I just read Karen’s obituary and want to let you know I’m thinking of you, Linda and your families. I will remember Karen fondly.

My sincere condolences to all who knew Karen! She was funny and never took anything from people! I appreciated that about her! SHe will be missed!
