Judith “Judy” May Brandt, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2024, at her home in Union City. Born on August 28, 1943, in Cranesville, Judy lived a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Judy was a dedicated homemaker who poured her heart into creating a warm and welcoming environment for her family. She had a passion for cooking and baking, often delighting her loved ones with her delicious creations. Judy enjoyed spending her weekends browsing flea markets and traveling, always seeking new adventures and experiences. Her love for Dachshund dogs brought joy to her life and many heartfelt moments that she shared with friends and family.

Judy is survived by her son, Ricky P. Brandt and his wife Marie of Erie; her two sisters, Jane Fell and her husband William of Ashville, Ohio, and Georgia Guriel of Mill Village; her grandchildren, Eric Brandt and Ryan Holden. She also leaves behind three great-grandchildren Ashton, Caitlyn, and Olivia; her two great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

Judy was preceded in death by her father, George E. Matthias; her mother, Laura V. (Taylor) Matthias, who shaped and nurtured the remarkable woman she became; her loving husband Bruce Barney; and her infant son Jeffrey Barney.

Judy’s family will receive guests at the Warren-Glenn Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc., 62 S. Main Street, Union City on Saturday, December 21st from 1 pm to 3 pm and invites all who knew and loved her to join them for her celebration of her life the same day at the funeral home at 3 pm with Pastor Daryl Myer, pastor of Hope Junction Community Church, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Judy’s name to the Union City Volunteer Fire Department, 50 Second Avenue, Union City, PA. 16438 and/or the LECOM VNA of Erie County, 2253 W Grandview Blvd, Erie, PA 16506.
