Judith A. Rhoads

Judith A. Rhoads, age 81, of Georgetown Road in Polk, died Saturday, February 16, 2013 at her residence. A daughter of Frank E. and Inez M. Beecher Slater, she was born January 21, 1930 in Oil City. On April 10, 1965 she married Freeman Rhoads and he preceded her in death on June 27, 2006. Mrs. Rhoads enjoyed watching television, knitting, camping, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and NASCAR. Surviving is a daughter, Nancy Dunkel and husband Ernest of Oil City; a brother, Howard E. Slater and wife Elizabeth of Franklin; a sister, Inez Best and husband John of Franklin; her step-children, Gary Rhoades, Robert Rhoades, and Kimberly Payne; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Shaderline of Polk; four grandchildren, Diana Dunkel, Valorie Dunkel, Ricky Shaderline, and Robert Shaderline; her 12 great-grandchildren; and her cat, Bosco. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Frank Shaderline; a brother, Harold E. Slater; and a sister, Virginia Stephens. Funeral services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc. in Franklin. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Humane Society, PO Box 1045, Oil City, PA 16301.
