Joseph “Sonny” Paul Ranyak, Jr, 71, of Union City passed away on July 7, 2026 in his home.

Born on November 12, 1955 in Union City, he was the son of the late Joseph Paul and Lois L. (Corey) Ranyak, Sr.

Sonny was a 1974 class graduate of Union City High School. After high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Army.

He was a CNC machine operator at MFG, Inc., Union City.

Sonny loved to hunt and fish and was very enthralled with American History. He was a member of the VFW John Krol Post 6773 and the American Legion LeBaron Post 237.

Left to cherish his memories are his longtime companion, Jean Stepnowski and his brother, Terry Ranyak of Union City.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Linda “Dolly” Haley.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026 from 1pm – 5pm at the Union City American Legion, 9225 US-6, Union City, PA 16438.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Sonny’s memory can be made to the Union City Fire Company and/or Union City Ambulance Service, 50 Second Avenue, Union City, PA 16438.

Arrangements are in the care of Warren-Glenn Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 62 South Main Street, Union City, PA.
