TOWNVILLE - Joseph Kosik, 89, of 32410 Guys Mills Road, Townville, passed away, Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010, at Meadville Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 24, 1920 in Donora, the son of George Kosik and Anna Kubicy Kosik. He married Laura Jane Clark on Nov. 17, 1947.
He enjoyed tinkering with machinery.
He was a past member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of the Townville Volunteer Fire Department.
He was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Army Air Force and worked for 23 years as the postmaster at the Townville Post Office.
He was of the Catholic faith.
He is survived by his wife, Laura Jane Kosik, of Townville; three daughters, Grace Gilson and her husband, Kenneth, of Sunbury, Ohio, Fran Beckwith and her husband, Duane, of Flagstaff, Ariz., and Josephine Meyer and her husband, Phil, of Townville; one sister, Frances Weill of, Dover, Del.; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Helen Naumuk; and a brother, John Kosik.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. and a Memorial Service will follow at 7 at Townville United Methodist Church.
