John T. Brothis, 80, of Meadville, PA, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2024, at the Rolling Fields Eldercare Community with Judy his loving wife of 55 years by his side. He was born on July 20, 1944, in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, to Thomas and Stella (Pappas) Brothis.
John was a proud graduate of Pawtucket West High School, Class of 1962, and went on to become a dedicated plant manager in the printing industry. After retirement he obtained his broker’s license and sold real estate in South Carolina. He married the love of his life, Judy Rauschenberg, on August 23, 1969. Together, they shared a wonderful life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories.
A man of many talents, John was an accomplished woodworker and a passionate bowler. He enjoyed spending his free moments at Plaza Lanes, where he bowled alongside Judy in a local league. In addition to his hobbies, John was a Mason and a Shriner for over 50 years, finding joy in being part of the ZemZem Fez Flyers.
John is survived by his wonderful wife, Judy, and several nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Elaine Kirko and Dan Brothis.
A memorial bowling tournament will be held in John’s honor at a date yet to be determined, with all proceeds going to benefit the Shriners Hospital of Erie, a cause dear to his heart.
Arrangements are in the care of Ryan M. Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville.

Dear Judy, this came as such as shock. It’s as though we just had lunch yesterday. So glad that we had that time together, since the both of you have always been a special part of my life. John was an amazing individual who always brought a smile to my face. You certainly will be in our thoughts and prayers.
Judy.
So sorry to hear of the loss of John. I have such fond memories of working together all those years ago at HPC. We always enjoyed visiting both you in Myrtle and the rounds of golf with John were always an adventure with lots of laughs. He was quite the character, one you won’t forget, who had such a good heart. My deepest sympathy.
Judy, I am so sorry to hear about John. He was a character like no other and it was always a joy to visit with the two of you every time we went to Myrtle Beach. I’m sending you lots of hugs and prayers.
