John C. Edwards, Sr., of Union City, passed away, Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at his residence. He was born on February 26, 1930 in Union City, a son of Thomas Edwards and Celia Johnson Edwards. He married Wanda May on December 12, 1950. She preceded him in death in 2012. He was a 1948 graduate of Union City High School. John was employed as the head sawyer at a sawmill, a television repairman, and later worked in plumbing and heating with his son. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking, hunting, and time outdoors. He is survived by a daughter, Donna (Tim) Smith of Erie; two sons, John (Janice) Edwards, Jr. of Corry and Steven (Heather) Edwards of Texas; four grandchildren, Jaime (Jay) Greishaw, Jennifer (Jason) Zietz, Annabelle Edwards, and Clementine Edwards; four great grandchildren, Sierra Greishaw, Madison Greishaw, Savannah Zietz, and Sydney Zietz; a brother, Donald (Grace) Edwards of Corry; and his loving companion, Betty Lou Kirik of Union City. In addition to his wife, Wanda; he was preceded in death by his parents; and six brothers and sisters. There will be no services held at this time. Private burial will take place at Lottsville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in John's memory to Community Nursing Services of North East, 7 Park St, North East, PA 16428.
