ERIE " Jean Martha Farrah of 2547 West 8th St., Erie, passed away on April 27, 2010, at St. Vincent Health Center, Erie.
Jean was born in Detroit, Mich., on March 6, 1927, a daughter to George Farrah and Lily Barbour.
Jean enjoyed having coffee at Panera Bread, telling jokes, walking and riding her bike. She worked for United Nations in Europe as an executive secretary.
Survivors include two brothers, Victor Farrah and his wife, Nioma, of Salisbury, N.C., and William Farrah and his wife, Jan, of Detroit.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, John, Edward, George, Alexander and Joseph; and one sister, Leona Wright.
Memorials may be made to Sisters of St. Joseph, 2547 West 8th St., Erie, Pa. 16505; or the John Kanzius Cancer Research Foundation, 1001 State St., Erie, Pa. 16501.
A memorial service will be conducted at the St. Jude Roman Catholic Church Chapel, Erie, on Saturday at 1 p.m. Her dear friend, Dianne Cunningham, invites all who knew Jean to honor her memory by sharing their favorite “Jean” story, while lifting her up through love and prayers. The service will be conducted by Father Tom Brooks and Sister Veronica.
