Janney Louise Spaich, 47, of Union City, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at UPMC Presbyterian on July 21, 2026. Born on March 31, 1979, in Corry, Pennsylvania, Janney was the beloved daughter of Charles and Janet Louise Nichols Sampson.
A graduate of Penn-Foster, Janney earned her certification in Child Development and dedicated her passion to working as a teacher’s aide and school-age teacher at Early Connections, where she made a difference in the lives of many children.
Janney loved the simple joys in life – spending time at the beach, watching sunsets, gathering around a cozy campfire, and cherishing moments with her family. She was a kind and caring soul who will be deeply missed.
Janney is survived by her mother, Janet of Union City; her daughter, Ashley (James Hicks) Spaich of Erie; her son, Richard (Jordan) Spaich of Titusville; her cherished grandchildren, Noah Spaich, Allison Hicks, and Jude Spaich; and her brother, Merill (Tina) Sampson of Titusville.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles, and her sister, Janet Anderson.

Janney did a wonderful job when she worked as an aide in the elementary school. Even on days when she didn’t feel well she continued to do her job and persevered. She fought a gallant battle and will be missed. ❤️
