Jane C. Ramsey Jane C. Ramsey, of Elk Street, Franklin, passed away at 9:10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 21, 2011, at the home of her daughter, Esther Shull. Born October 9, 1929 in Galitzin, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Ramsey was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Mary Esther Brumburg Aikins. She was married to James Lemoin Ramsey on March 21, 1975 and he preceded her in death in 2004. Mrs. Ramsey had worked for Daniels Transfer as a clerk/typist, and retired in 1991 from the Franklin Hospital, where she worked in the Dietary Department. Jane is survived by her children, Esther Shull of Franklin, and Linda Swaney and her husband, Duane, of Beaver; her-daughter-in-law, Kay Best, of Harrisburg; and her former husband and companion, William Best of Franklin . Mrs. Ramsey is also survived by her grandchildren, Traci Moon and her husband, Kevin, and Melissa Spence and her husband, John, of Cooperstown; Patti Best of Harrisburg; Suzette Jones and her husband, Carl, of Williamstown; Jason Latchaw and his wife, Desiree; and Lori Tharp and her husband, J.D., all of Beaver; and her great-grandchildren, Taylor Hill of Cooperstown; Nate and Kylee McEntee and Connor Pannebaker, of Harrisburg; and Alexys Guy, Madison, Joslyn, and Gavin Latchaw, and Isaac and Ella Tharp, all of Beaver. She is additionally survived by her brothers and step-brothers, James Aikins and his wife, Becky, of Erie; Gail Aikins and his wife, Gail, of Coraopolis; Ronald Aikins of Franklin, Vern Long and his wife, Cathy of Elizabeth, James Aikins and his wife, Betty, Raymond Aikins and his wife, Toby, and Charles Aikins, all of Oil City; and her sisters, Virginia Houser; Garnet Haggerty and her husband, Roy, of Oil City; Janet Osborne and her husband, Donald, of Franklin, and Gloria Prindle and her husband, Lee, of Oil City; and her sister-in-law, Joy Aikins, of Summerville. In addition to her parents and husband, Jane was preceded in death by her brothers, Gar, Merle, Lawrence, John, and Robert Aikins; her infant sister, Wanda Aikins; her sister, Janice Kay; her grandson, Daniel Latchaw, II; and her son, William A. Best. Family and friends of Mrs. Ramsey will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin on Friday, September 23, 2011 from 3 to 7 p.m., and also from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 24. Funeral Services will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Joseph P. Martin, Jr., officiating.
