Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. My mother Arline Clark will be happy to welcome Jim to the other side. She had so much respect for him, as did my whole family. From broken screen doors to boat motor repairs “Jimmy Sullivan can fix anything” she used to say and was always there in a heartbeat. When I was a kid, he was like Superman. He will be missed.

  2. I grew up in Saxonburg, PA. My mom, Dodie, and I would buy our furniture at Jim and Phyllis’ furniture store in Butler. Both of our families also had connections to Canadohta Lake, PA. This is where my friendships grew with each of the Sullivans and their beautiful families. Our hearts go out to Diana and all of Jim’s family. Jim is one of those-kind-of-guys who will be greatly missed by all. Our family sends love and prayers.

  3. The Sullivan family were some of the first people I got to know when my parents bought our place at the lake in 77. At the time I remember Jim had a black and silver pickup truck that looked so fast and I wanted that truck lol. What 13 year old gear head wouldn’t ? I got to know Jim and Tommy and Maureen and I’m so glad I did. Jim…..the lake won’t be the same without you. And P.S…….I still have that Wizard Super 10 you got running for my Dad back in the early 80s. I’d bet with a little fresh gas……it would start. Rest easy my friend and my condolences to the Sullivan family. Very sad news…..

  4. So very sorry to hear of Jim’s passing, he was always a smiling face at Parker, my sincere condolences are sent to Diana and his family

  5. To the Sullivan family; Jimmy was a good friend of mine at the lake. We had alot of good times over the years, but I lost touch with him after I joined the Navy (1978), then had a family. We visited with Jim and Diana several times these last few years after he was diagnosed. He was always upbeat and cheerful, and Diana was really nice when we visited. All our prayers go out to Jim and his family. Goodbye good friend. R.I.P. Jack and Donna Lapek

  6. Jimmy will be deeply missed by family and friends. Thank you for being a great neighbor while I had my lake home from 2005 to 2017. Jimmy and Diana were always there with a lending hand and a great warmth of happiness. Jimmy you will be deeply missed. God Bless, June Brine

  7. I am so sorry for your loss, and for the pain that all who loved Jim are feeling at his absence. We each have our unique perspective on who someone is in the context of our individual lives. In my mind’s eye, my first cousin, Jim, will always be that young boy with the big heart, full of curiosity, absolute love for his family, who was always up for adventure, and had a wickedly twisted sense of humor that definitely appealed to me. Even in his youth, Jim had a quiet presence and never failed to notice what lay beneath the surface of what was happening around him, and he was consistently kind. In summer, he loved hanging out with his brother, Rick and me, fishing on the Lake, eating fries at Ethel’s, swimming, or playing minature golf in the closed-down course at The Park — out of which we were expressly told to stay, but didn’t. The three of us spent time climbing in the rickety tree house Rick built over, what was then quicksand, in what was then a mini forest next to Uncle Jim and Aunt Phyl’s cottage that separated their lot from their neighbor’s. At the beginning of every year, Pappy Sullivan would gather the older of us kids (Rick, Jim, cousin Diane, and me) and deliver “the talk” regarding what to look out for in order to stay safe — mainly reminding us how to recognize quicksand, the sound of a rattlesnake, and bear sign, and what to do in each instance. And during these talks, Jim was always the one who stood in the backgound and good-naturedly provided gestures and sound effects for emphasis. (The Lake was a much wilder place when the older of us were kids. It got a lot more tame and civilized by the time most of you arrived.) These are the memories I cherish most. Jim will forever live in my heart as one of the finest men I have ever known, like his father, and his grandfather, and his brothers. The Sullivan men are a rare breed
    — they don’t make them like that any more. I feel incredibly blessed that I was able to remind Jim of how much I love him a few days before his passing. Now, he’s with his brother, Rick, and all those went went before. Whenever any of our family passed, Rick used to call me, say who was then missing, and then would state matter-of-factly, “Well, you’re next,” because I am the oldest in our generation of cousins. It was our private joke. When I heard of Jim’s passing, I imagined him standing with Rick, looking down at me from Heaven, and with big grins on their faces, and their signature laughter, saying, “Well, you’re next!” And my heart smiled. Please know that I share your grief, and that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

  8. I got to know Jim hunting while hunting with him and Dan in Missouri. He made an immediate impression on me. He was one of the funniest guys I have ever known. The fact that he didn’t try to be funny says a lot about him. His random comments made me laugh so hard to the point of crying. He was the nicest guy to sit down and talk to, and he was wasn’t afraid to throw a funny jab at anyone. When coming in from hunting, he would walk into the cabin and say, “Ah s**t, or Sunnna of a Bi***h.” I will miss Jim whole heartedly. The world is less humorous without him.

  9. I remember a time when my daughter Heather was running in the carton and was thrown out of the boat and Jim made sure she was safe and then got the boat under control. Big Bill and Mickey will be waiting for you. You will sorely missed such a wonderful guy

  10. Wow was so sad to hear of Jim’s passing I worked with Jim for many years at Ethan allen and had some great times May god bless him and his entire family rest in peace my friend

  11. We are so sorry for you loss. I knew Jimmy growing up at the Lake, we lived next to his Mom and Dad, and now next door to Tom and Josette. He was a wonderful guy, always seemed happy! Loved watching him on his hydro! Diana and family, our prayers are with you.

  12. Diana (Still call you Swiss ❤) and Family. So very sorry to learn about Jim. He loved you all so much. Great guy. Heartfelt sympathy for all of you.

  13. To the Sullivan Family,
We are so sorry for your loss & send our heartfelt condolences. God bless you & your families during this difficult time.

  14. Jimmy was my childhood lake friend. So many memories: Boat Races. Picnics, the Park, Ethels, Pinball Machines, Ghost Town, Pranks. King of the Dock, and just hanging out.. When I was looking at the cottage behind his home to purchase, Jimmy was in his yard. The owner went to introduce us: “This is Ellie she thinking of purchasing the cottage”. Jim replied “Oh hell there goes the neighborhood”. I bought the cottage, fantastic neighbors, some new, others old friends. Have many great memories from campfires, parties, or just hanging out. With Jim’s passing I have to say: “There goes the Neighborhood” Just won’t be the same without Jim! GodSpeed my friend!

  15. We are feeling sadness in our hearts for your tremendous loss at this time. Jimmy was such a great person, who would do anything he could to help others. We loved his sense of humor. He adored his family and was such a proud grandfather. We will miss our conversations with Jimmy, while laughing on our porch, during summers at the lake. Summers just won’t be the same without him at the lake. Sending our Deepest Sympathizes 💕

  18. Accomplishment Of a significant milestone in my Life. I am deeply grateful to Dr. OZ Oziengbe for casting a spell that helped me win $30.5 million in the Mega Millions lottery.
My name is Roland Miller, and I am from California. My wife left me seven months ago because I could no longer provide for her and our kids. Life became very difficult, and I could barely afford food.
One day, I came across Dr. OZ’s Testimonies online and saw many amazing testimonies from people he had helped win millions of dollars. I decided to give it a try. Dr. OZ guided me on what to do and gave me the Mega Millions winning numbers. I played them and won $30.5 million.
I am extremely grateful to Dr. OZ for this life-changing win, and I highly recommend him to everyone.
