Rhoda R. Johnson Brown, 65, of 167 W. Abbottsford Avenue, Philadelphia, passed away at 7:25 p.m. on March 31, at her home. Born July 13, 1947 in Franklin, she was the daughter of the late Jesse H. and Josephine V. Rhinehart Johnson. She legally changed her name in 1980 to Jagana R. Brown. Jagana was a 1965 graduate of Franklin High School, where she studied business. After graduating, she moved to Philadelphia, and worked for the District Attorneys Office for more than 40 years before retiring in 2006. She was married to George W. Jerry Brown from 1970 to 1977, and in 1972, they had a daughter, Letta Tanisha Brown. Jagana enjoyed showing her family the sights of Philadelphia, and spending two weeks every summer in Franklin visiting her family and friends. She had many hobbies, which included watching NBA Basketball and the Philadelphia Eagles. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles. Jagana is survived by her daughter, Letta T. Brown, of Philadelphia; her sister, Jessica Johnson Washington; and her brothers, Charles E. Yogi Johnson and his wife, Jana, James O Johnson, and Philip K. Johnson, all of Franklin. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, whom she dearly loved spending time with and telling them stories. She was additionally survived by several cousins. In addition to her parents, Jagana was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Lynette Johnson; and her nephew, NKumah Tarr. A memorial service will be held at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, on Saturday, April 13, at 10 a.m. Since Jaganas favorite color was red, her family is requesting that individuals attending her memorial service wear something red to honor her memory. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society PA Division, Inc., PO Box 896, Hershey, PA 17033-0896.
