Howard L. Beers, 80, of Meadville, passed away, Saturday, June 8, 2013 at his residence. He was born September 28, 1932 in Grand Valley, Pennsylvania, a son of Marion and Mary Earle Beers. On October 14, 1967 he married Helen Easley, she survives. He was employed by Channellock and PPG and retired from PPG as a furnace operator. Howard was a US Army veteran serving his country during the Korean Conflict. He was a past commander of the VFW Post 2006, served with the VFW Colorguard and American Legion Post 0381 Cambridge Springs. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. In addition to his loving wife Helen of 45 years he is survived by a daughter, Lisa Beers of Sharpsville, PA; a son, Robert Beers and his wife Michelle of Titusville; three grandchildren, Andrew, Karissa, and Josh Beers; three sisters, Mary Williams of Titusville, Ruth Beers of Plainville, CT, and Beverly Sayre and her husband William of Mesa, AZ; two brothers, Paul Beers of Linesville and Ralph Beers of Conneaut Lake, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Ken Beers, sister, Gertrude Hatton, and an infant sister, Eleanor. Family and friends are welcome to call on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Roofner-Collins-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville, PA. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at the funeral home at 11:00 A.M. with Father Johnathan Schmolt, pastor of St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will take place at St. Brigid Cemetery with full military honors provided by VFW Post 2006 Colorguard. Per family request in lieu of flowers to be made to the VFW Post 2006, 1045 S. Morgan Street, Meadville, PA 16335 or St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, 383 Arch Street, Meadville, PA 16335.   1. Sorry to hear of Howard’s passing. I worked with Howard at PPG on Crew 2 in the tank. Howard was a good man. I always enjoyed working with him.

  2. Howard was one of my favorite co-workers at PPG, Industries . Easy going, well liked, very dedicated to his job and over the years I always enjoyed our conversations about gardening. My sincere condolences to his family.
