Hyman Herbert Miller, 97, of Union City and formerly of Franklin, passed away on September 28, 2023.
Born in New York, NY on June 20, 1926, he was the son of the late Abraham and Rose (Garlick) Miller.
He was a graduate of Morris High School and attended George Washington University, Washington, DC.
Herb proudly served in the US Navy during the WW II era.
On May 11, 2000, he married the former Mary J. Newlin and she preceded him in death on December 1, 2016.
Herb was a writer for The Derrick and the News Herald Newspapers.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Dr. Lawrence Miller and his wife, Joan of Boca Raton, FL, Larry Zendle and his wife, Julie, of Alaska, James A. Shields of Union City and Donald Montgomery and his wife, Sissy, of Union City; his daughters Jane Rosengarden of NY, NY and Jeanie Freitag and her husband, Bob, of Nagolez, AZ; his many grandchildren; his great-grandchildren; and those he was friends with.
Funeral services for Herb were private and he was laid to rest in the Titusville Oil City Jewish Cemetery, Titusville, PA.

Papa Herb, you will be so missed. You became a very good friend as well as a father and grampa figure. We sure had some discussions…and a whole lot of laughs. You lived a very long full life and touched many many peoples hearts. As I said you will be missed!
