TOWNVILLE - Henry B. (Hank) Yokum of 13534 Fauncetown Road, Townville, passed away Friday, Sept. 4, 2009, at Meadville Medical Center following a brief illness.Mr. Yokum was born in Troy Township on Sept. 25, 1923, a son of Earl and Margaret Clark Yokum.On June 24, 1944, Mr. Yokum served in the U.S. Army under Gen. George Patton and saved the world; he was honorably discharged on April 13, 1946. On Oct., 29, 1949, he married Adora Corey of Guys Mills; she survives.He was employed at Struthers Wells in Titusville for 18 years and later worked at Conrail for 25 years.He was an avid hunter and fisherman, especially trout fishing. He also enjoyed bowling and was a member of the senior citizen league in Titusville for more than 15 years. He also loved his dogs.In addition to his wife of 59 years, he is survived by his daughters, Ms. Margaret Y. Wangler (Marty) of Townville and Mrs. Frank Weingard (Betty Lou) of Blooming Valley. Pappa, as he was known by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, is also survived by Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wangler of Little Cooley and their son, Jordan, Mr. and Mrs. Ryan Weingard of Townville and their children, Anthony and Naomi, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas M. Stumpf (Betsy) of Meadville, and Mr. Corey E. Wangler of Edinboro. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Beatrice Shade.Calling hours will be Sunday at Willis L. Arnold Funeral home, Main Street, Townville, from 2 to 4 p.m. with a service to immediately follow, with the Rev. Frank Weingard of Tryonville United Methodist Church officiating, with full military honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2006.Arrangements are being handled by Willis L. Arnold Funeral Home, a Branch of Roofner-Collins Funeral Home.
