Helen A. Rodgers, 86, of 102 N. 13th St., Franklin and formerly of 143 Time Machine Drive, Polk, died at 5:10 a.m. Friday, April 18, 2008, at The Caring Place, Franklin. She was born Jan. 26, 1922, in Franklin, a daughter of Carl Lee and Jennie Perry Shaffstall. Mrs. Rodgers was a homemaker. She was past president of the VFW ladies auxiliary and past member of the Women of the Moose. Mrs. Rodgers was married Feb. 2, 1973 to Gene Rodgers, who preceded her in death. She is survived by four children, Bill Wimer and his wife, Marsha, of Clearfield, Terry Wimer and his wife, Nancy, of Franklin; a stepson, Lewis Rodgers Jr. and his wife, Sherri, of Franklin; and a stepdaughter Kathaleen Rodgers of Franklin; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy Slocum of Youngsville. Mrs. Rodgers was preceded in death by her husbands, Willard "Spike" L. Wimer in 1965; and Gene Rodgers in 2003; a sister, Gladys Swenson; and two brothers, Elmer and Jim Shaffstall. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 26 in the chapel at The Caring Place. Memorials may be made to The Caring Place, 103 N. 13th St., Franklin 16323.
