Harry "Skip" Davison

January 26, 1944 ~ January 2, 2025

Born in: Frankin, Pennsylvania
Resided in: Polk, Pennsylvania

Harry “Skip” Davison, 80, of Polk, lovingly known for his warm spirit and gentle hands, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2025, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his devoted family.

Born on January 26, 1944, in Franklin, Skip was the cherished son of the late Charles Gordon and Florence (Hasson) Davison. He found his greatest joy in life when he married the love of his life, Nancy Beach, on August 12, 1961; their enduring bond of 63 years was a testament to the love they shared.

Skip dedicated many years to the Carpenter’s Local Union #268 in Sharon, where he served as a superintendent and journeyman carpenter, honing his craft with passion and precision. His love for woodworking often drew him to his shop, where he would immerse himself in his next project, shaping raw materials into beautiful creations. A true craftsman, he found joy not only in woodworking but also in taking care of his yard, being outdoors, and the thrill of hunting in nature. Yet, above all, it was his family and his dog, Winston, that filled his heart with pride and joy.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Nancy; their son, Brian Davison of Polk; and their daughter, Lisa Adams of Polk. He will be warmly remembered by his adoring grandchildren: Amanda Adams, Aaron Adams, and Allison Hedglin and his great grandchildren: Joey, Hunter, and Elliot Hedglin, Miller Carothers, and Lincoln Mathieson and a very special niece, Lois Hanna. His legacy will endure in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Jack, Arthur, and Gene Davison, Bob Ray, Margaret Davison, Virginia Reagle, Mary Adams, and Dorothy Doutt; and his son-in-law: Rick Adams.

In keeping with Skip’s wishes, no public services will be observed and arrangements are under the care of the Gardinier-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, PA.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Center Community Church, 214 Center Church Road, Polk, PA 16342; Polk Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 329, Polk, PA 16342; and/or Precious Paws Animal Rescue, PO Box 784, Franklin, PA 16323 in Skip’s memory, reflecting the warmth and compassion he extended to all.

Skip Davison will be profoundly missed but forever remembered for his kindness, craftsmanship, and unwavering love for his family. A special thank you goes out to the staff at AseraCare Hospice, Grove City Oncology and Clarion Radiation for the kindness and care that was given to Skip and his family.

  1. I am sooooooo sorry to hear of the passing of Skip. He was a great neighbor. Nancy, Lisa, Brian, Aaron, Amanda and family are in our thoughts and prayers 🙏🏻♥️

    • My thoughts and prayers to all of you thru time! Skip was a great guy. Enjoyed getting a wave from him every day whether he was doing something in the yard or in the shop out back!! Thinking of all of you during this diff time! Your mail lady!!

  2. There has never been nor will there ever be a “special” uncle like “Skip” Davison. I do not know what I am going to do without you and those phone calls every week to check on each other. It was a hell of a ride by your side from June – December 2024. We made the most of each day despite your pain. I am NEVER going to forget that time period with you. As much as I had to travel back and forth, it was worth every minute; and I would not trade it for anything. I love you so much and am proud to have been your niece.
“Go Rest High on That Mountain; Your Work on Earth is Done!” I LOVE YOU!

  3. The girls at Grove City will deeply miss Skip and his one-of-a-kind sayings! Even on his most difficult days, he always had kind words to say and was so grateful for the most simplest of things. We still have his hats that he brought us all, and often throw around some “catch phrases” that he taught us. It wasn’t the best place to have met Skip, in the oncology center, but we are glad to have met him and his wonderful family. Rest easy, Skip. We will meet and have a laugh again someday.

  4. What a great friend and neighbor! He was always willing to help anyone in need. I didn’t know him a long time (a couple of years), but I knew him well enough to know that he truly cared about people. His smile and hug at church will be greatly missed.

  5. Our deepest condolences, Nancy and family. Jim and I were very sad to hear the passing of our dear high school friend and forever friend for over 50 yrs. I always loved to chew the fat with you. Your laugh and wisdom was shared to us and many others. We will meet one day with our Lord. You have left a wonderful mark here on earth. Your love, kindness and sharing of yourself, will be with us forever.

Nancy, if you need anything please call. We will keep you all in our prayers. May God hold you close to him and guide you through this time of sorrow and loss.

    Jim n Carolyn Baughman
