Harry J. Engles Harry J. Engles, 66, of Colbert Avenue, Oil City, passed away at his residence, surrounded by his loving family, on Friday, January 21, 2011 following a lengthy illness. Born on December 14, 1944, in Franklin, Harry was the son of the late Philip W. and Gertrude Johnson Engles, Sr. He was married to the former Barbara McCracken on March 2, 1974, and she survives. Harry was a truck driver for Engles Trucking and various other trucking companies. He was also a school bus driver and drove ambulance for Community Ambulance Service. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, four-wheeler riding, telling stories, and talking with his many friends. Harry also enjoyed watching Steeler's Football and spending time with his beloved animals. In addition to his wife, Harry is survived by his son, Richard Engles and his wife, Amanda, of Seneca; his daughter, LeAnn Engles, of Oil City, and his two grandchildren, Emilee Engles of Seneca and Jayce Becoate of Oil City. He is also survived by his Sister-in-law, Sue Eisenklam and her husband, Peter, of Mesa, Arizona; and his good friend and fishing buddy, Anthony Becoate, of Oil City; and several nieces and nephews. Harry was preceded in death by his parents, his two brothers, Philip W. Engles, Jr. and Sherman Engles; his two sisters, Honey Engles and Jane Williams; and his brother-in-law, Bill Williams. Family and friends will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 from 3 to 7 p.m. Funeral Services for Harry will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 26 at 11 a.m., with Dan Rudoph, of Messiah Baptist Church, officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard. Interment will follow in Rockland Cemetery. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Kirtland Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 108, Franklin PA 16323 and/or the Venango County Humane Society, P.O. Box 1045, Oil City PA 16301.   1. Im so sorry for your loss, I didnt get a chance to know Harry to well but of the times I did get to talk to him he was a sweet and funny man. My husband Andy Shreffler worked with Harry and only had the best things to say about him. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers. God Belss.

    My Family so enjoyed his company he was such a kind hearted man. I have so many wonderful childhood memories of him coming to visit and working at the Funeral Home.

  5. It’s been over 50 years since I last saw Harry. His brother Sherman used to have us play baseball around Mapledale and Harry used to stick-around. these were wonderful days of our youth. I am saddened by Harry’s passing, but it is great knowing he had a such a successul life and a great family. Sincerely, Bill Chamberlain
