Harold M. Andrews, 88, of Meadville, passed away, Monday, November 7, 2011 at Crawford County Care Center. He was born September 14, 1923 in Bradford, PA a son of James C. Andrews and Clemetta E. Ingalby Andrews. He married Lois L. Adams in March of 1951 and she preceded him in death March of 1995.
He was on the protestant faith and attended the Presbyterian Church of Conneaut Lake.
He was a 1941 graduate of Jamestown High School
He was in the US Airforce from 1941 to 1945. Following his honorable discharge he was employed at Westinghouse and Sunbeam both of Meadville, subsequently he was employed by in Reno, Nevada by both Grumman American Aviation and Lear Aviation.
Harold had a love for airplanes and enjoyed gardening and watching basketball.
He is survived by three children, Roger H. Andrews of Laramie, Wyoming, Robert L. Andrews of Johnsonburg, Pennsylvania, and Corinne L. Gladis of Vienna, Ohio; three grandchildren, Ryan Gladis of Masury, Ohio, Andrea Gladis of Green Bay Wisconsin, and Lisa Gross and her husband Larry of Richmond, Virginia; two great grandchildren, Taylor and Brayden; a brother, Maynard Andrews of Moisertown, Pennsylvania; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois L. Andrews; his parents, James and Clemetta Andrews; and a brother, James Andrews.
Family and friends are welcome to call on Thursday, November 10th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm at Roofner-Collins-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville. The funeral service will be Friday, November 11th at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Fraley of Presbyterian Church of Conneaut Lake, officiating. Full military honors will be presented by VFW Post 2006 Color Guard following the funeral service.
Burial will take place in Denny Cemetery.
