  2. I worked on the farm for several years from dawn to dusk as a school kid. My favorite days were when Glenn took me with him on a pulp wood run. He had a 15 cord a week contract with Hammermill. On the way back we stopped for lunch. Desert special was pecan pie. Rolene made a great pecan pie and in later years my wife would enter one at the Sparta Fair to compete with her. I think his favorite sweet was a slice of bread a bit of milk and maple syrup after supper most evenings. I spent many hours cutting and stacking firewood in the sugar house, cultivating corn and putting up hay. Glen was my first hero after my father. He was full of energy and love of life.
