Gertrude L. "Lucy" McCarty, 84, of Franklin (Rocky Grove) passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2023 at home, as she wished, with her daughter by her side...She was born on December 1, 1938, in Butler County, to the late Truman A. and Jeannette (Whitling) Switzer... She married Harvey McCarty on March 21, 1975. He preceded her in death leaving a void in her heart and life. Lucy loved country music and she was known for her yodeling...also would read westerns and even enjoyed going occasionally with her daughter, Mary dancing and enjoyed going to and having garage sales and loved going to dinner at Leonardo's...She was known for her homemade bread and no bake cookies and going to casinos. You could find her playing in Vegas, Youngstown, Presque Isle, and very often Salamanca. She was a member of Dominos Club and loved a good game of cards, especially "Harve's Card Game". She was also a past member of Tops Weight Loss Group in Rocky Grove. Left to cherish her wonderful memory are her children, Mary I. Hoover of Oil City, Abraham L. Kellner of Fredonia, Michael A. Kellner and his wife, Dawn of Sandy Lake, John L. Kellner of Polk, Donald O. Kellner and his wife, Betsy of Huntsville, AL and Lisa R. Ducca and her husband, Nicholas, Jr., of Highland, CA; daughter-in-law, Linda Daye Kellner of Hermitage; her grandchildren, Jessica M. Beshaw, Alicia R. Hoover, Sheena M. Sundin and husband, Jamie, David L. and wife, Alyssa Kellner, Amber N. Best and husband, Tim, Kayla E. Kellner, Travis D. Kellner, Brittany R. Ducca, and Nicky P. Ducca; great-greatchildren, Paige A. (Kenny J.) Goodrum, Caylee M. (Cope) Ginnery, Alayna S. Rodgers, Maksus J. Kulinski, Leksus J. Kulinski, Aidan M. Ruth, Slade O. Sundin, Aspen and Adaline Kellner, Savanna E. Best, Stevie J. Kellner and Heather K. Kellner; great-great grandchildren, Justin J. Goodrum, Carter Ann Goodrum, Copelin J. Ginnery, Jessie Kellner, and Dewayne Reddinger III; her sister, Patricia Roberts of Fredonia; and her sister-in-laws, Janice Switzer of Cranberry and Ann Switzer of Fertigs. In addition to her parents and her step-mother, Clara (Goodman) Switzer, Lucy is preceded in death by her first husband, Richard B. (Dick) Kellner.; son, Richard B. (Bradley) Kellner; grandson, Richard B. (Brad) Kellner the third; and her siblings, Harry A. Switzer, Truman A. Switzer, Richard A. Switzer, and Sue O'Connor. Family and friends will be received at Gardinier-Warren Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, PA on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 from 3pm - 6pm. A funeral service for Lucy will be held at the Gardinier-Warren Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at 1pm. Lucy will be laid to rest in Nicklin Cemetery.
