Geraldine L. Lyons

Geraldine "Gerry" L. Lyons, 94, of Franklin, passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 in the early afternoon at Sugar Creek Station.Born May 16, 1925 in Franklin, Gerry was the daughter of the late Clarence E. and Edna M. (Robinson) Shaffer. She was married to Cecil Edward Lyons; he preceded her in death in 2001.For most of her life, Gerry worked in the Medical field as a Nurse. Gerry had a vibrancy for life and enjoyed the simple things to the fullest. You could often find her walking around outside, enjoying the day by listening to the birds sing, or making others laugh with her great sense of humor. She also loved to play bingo, making quilts, and singing.Most of all, Gerry adored her family and the times they spent together.Left to cherish her memory is her son, James E. Lyons of Blounts Creek, NC; her three daughters, Edna Craig and her husband, Lanny J., and Patricia L. Lyons, both of Grove City, and Kathy J. Swinson of New Bern, NC; her eight grandchildren; her seventeen great-grandchildren; and by her eight great-great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents and husband, Gerry was preceded in death by her son, Michael Stavley Lyons; her two great-grandchildren, Jacob Clark and Gabriella Canada; her brother, Edward Shaffer; her daughter-in-law, Chirrell Lyons; and by her son-in-law, Charles Swinson.As per the family's request there will be no public services.Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, PA 16323.To send cards, online condolences, or for further information, family and friends are invited to visit www.gardinierfuneralhome.com.
