Geraldine A Karns

Geraldine A Karns, 90, of Franklin, passed away at 2:55 a.m. on Monday, December 17 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca. Born June 6, 1922 in Jackson Township, Geraldine was the daughter of the late Floyd H. and Bertha V. Hanks Karns. She was a graduate of Franklin High School and Welchs Business College, and had worked at the First National Bank of PA as a secretary. Geraldine was a member of Fox Street Church of God, where she was very active. She also had been a volunteer at the Franklin Library. She is survived by her two brothers, Charles R. Karns, and his wife, Arvilla, of Franklin, and Leslie (Jake) W. Karns and his wife, Hilde, of Smyrna, Tennessee; her three sisters, Neva Irene Kahler of Cooperstown, Gladys Passmore of Painted Post, New York, and Janet McDonald of Reno; her sister-in-law, Janet Karns of Bradleytown; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Geraldine was preceded in death by her sister, Elsie Schoonover, and her brother, Ralph (Buster) Karns. Family and friends will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin on Wednesday, December 19 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, December 20 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Lonny Wolford, Pastor of the Fox Street Church of God, officiating. Interment will follow in Cooperstown Cemetery. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Fox Street Church of God.
