George R. Hook, age 57, of Franklin died Sunday, December 22, 2024 at the residence of his mother after a short battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his family.

The son of George E. and Nancy A. Beach Hook he was born March 2, 1967 in Erie, PA.

During his adolescence George was active in Boy Scouts and helped for many years in the family business Hooks Custom Meat Processing.

Mr. Hook was a 1985 graduate of Franklin Area High School and went on to graduate from Triangle Tech in 1987 with an Associates Degree in Heating and Air Conditioning. He worked various jobs in the heating and air conditioning field and had been most recently employed by Lindsey Refridgeration in North East.

George was an avid hunter, enjoyed four wheeling, helping others and spending time with his family.

Surviving is his mother, Nancy Hook of Franklin; a sister, Mary Edwards and husband William of Franklin; nieces and nephews, Erin Edwards of Franklin, Nicholas Rex of Oil City, Christopher Rex of Franklin; numerous cousins; a special cousin, Vernon Hook; and close friends, Kevin, Amy and Derek Stewart;

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am on Thursday, December 26, 2024 at the Gardinier-Warren Funeral Home, 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin with Deacon Dick O’Polka officiating. Interment will be made in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Franklin.

  2. Sending my deepest condolences to the family of George. I grew up with him on Georgetown Road! George was one of the nicest guys you could ever meet! I’m be keeping all of you in my prayers

  3. We lived next door to each other in North East. We might not have had a lot in common but we always watched out for each other when one of us was away. We always had a respect for each other hunting and we would talk every once in awhile like neighbors do. He was probably one of the best neighbors you would want to have. I will miss you neighbor for sure.
