George H. Wells CONNEAUTVILLE - George H. Wells, 92, a resident of Rolling Fields of Conneautville, formerly of Harmonsburg Road, Linesville, died Sunday, April 5, 2009, at Rolling Fields.He was born in Duquesne on Nov. 29, 1916, a son of Ernest and Elizabeth Heffrin Wells. He married Mildred Mathews on June 22, 1967. She preceded him in death on May 2, 1996.He was a graduate of Summitt High School. He formerly owned and operated Wells' Esso station in Venango. He later retired from Conneaut School District where he had done bus maintenance.He was a member of Harmonsburg United Methodist Church.He enjoyed woodworking and carving and lapidary gem cutting.Survivors include several nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Wells; his mother, Elizabeth (Heffrin) Wells; and his wife, Mildred (Mathews) Wells.Calling hours will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Roofner-Collins Funeral Home, 544 Chestnut St., Meadville, where the funeral and committal service will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Joy Blackburn of Harmonsburg United Methodist Church officiating.Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Harmonsburg.The family suggests memorials be made to Rolling Fields Inc., 9108 State Highway 198, Conneautville, Pa. 16406.
