Lloyd Edward Gene Baker, 83, of 328 Congress Hill Road, Franklin, died May 22, 2008, at his residence. Born May 27, 1924, in Franklin, he was the son of Ralph Homer Baker and Valeria Thelma Walbourn Baker. He worked as a welder at the former Chicago Pneumatic Tools. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Franklin and the Franklin Moose and Eagles. Mr. Baker enjoyed golfing and bowling. He was married Sept. 7, 1946, to Ruth Fitzgerald, and she survives. Also surviving are a brother, Larry Baker and his wife Lois of Holly Hills, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and five brothers, Kenneth Baker, Ralph Baker Jr., Ronald Baker, Donald Baker and Billy Baker. Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the Robert W. Gardinier Funeral Home, 1315 Chestnut St., Franklin. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with the Rev. Ronald C. Bole of VNA Hospice, officiating.
