Frank R. Wolfgang, 76, of 143 Trails End Lane, Franklin, died at 5 a.m. Thursday, May 22, 2008, at UPMC Northwest. Born Aug. 9 1931, in Mayport, he was the son of Fred Wolfgang and Edna Leech. He worked at Polk Center as a meat cutter for 29 years until he retired on June 21, 1991. Mr. Wolfgang was a past master at Myrtle Lodge 316. He was a member of the Washington Club and a member of Mt. Carmel Church. For the past several years, Mr. Wolfgang has resided at the home of his nephew, Michael Young and his wife, Margaret. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and driving his Yamaha Rhino on his nephew's property. He is survived by two sisters, Charlotte Young of Franklin and Mrs. Shelby Jean Brosius and her husband, Calvin, of Summerville; and one brother, Boyd D. Wolfgang and his wife, Mary, of Vandergrift. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, especially Michael Young and his wife, Margaret, of Franklin; and many close church friends, especially Willa Jean Peterson of Polk. Mr. Wolfgang was preceded in death by his parents. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Robert W. Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc. in Franklin. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Caring Place Chapel in Franklin with Rev. Linda Deeter of the Caring Place officiating. Interment will be at Jefferson Cemetery.
