Frank D. Ganster, 80, of 10182 Tamarack Drive, Meadville, passed away Friday, Nov. 19, 2010 at Meadville Medical Center. He was born in Meadville on Jan. 31, 1930, a son of Harry Ganster and Naomi Cutshall. In 1948 he married Leatrice Mushrush. He was a 1948 graduate of Meadville High School and Crawford County Vocational Technical School. In his early years he worked at Johnson’s Auto Service and retired from Conrail in 1991. He was a lifetime member of the Meadville Club and a social member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2006 and the Hunting and Fishing Club. Frank was a very good and generous man with many friends. He enjoyed gardening and chopping wood. He is survived by his wife, Leatrice; sons Douglas Ganster of Saegertown and Larry Ganster of Bethany Beach, Del.; brothers Rexford Ganster of Carlisle and Samuel Ganster and his wife, Rita, of Purcell, Okla.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and father; brothers Blaine and Russell; and sisters Geraldine Tessmer, Marian Logan and Norma Seamon. There will be no services. Interment will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Meadville. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.roofner-collinsfh.com.
