Francis A Prichard

Francis A. "Fran" Prichard, 87, of 1110 Beighlea Ave., Franklin, died at 4:50 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009, at The Caring Place in Franklin. Born Aug. 29, 1922, in Cherrytree, he was the son of Herbert Arthur Prichard and Mildred Barnes Prichard. He was married Sept. 5, 1942, to the former Geraldine Smith, who preceded him in death. He was a general foreman at CPT where he had worked for 43 years until his retirement in 1985. Mr. Prichard attended Missionary Fellowship of Uniontown Heights. He enjoyed working on cars. Mr. Prichard is survived by two sons, James Prichard and his wife, Karen, of Franklin, and John Prichard and his wife, Jennifer, of West Springfield; and a daughter, Debra Haylett and her husband, Neil, of Franklin. He also is survived by seven grandchildren, Todd Robson of Erie, Lorrie Smart and her husband, Joey, of Erie, James M. Prichard Jr. and his wife, Mary, of Cleveland, Benjamin Prichard and Ellie Prichard, both of West Springfield, Ryan Haylett of Erie and Brent Haylett of Franklin; and three great-grandchildren, Jamie Collins of Erie and Sarah Prichard and Colin Prichard, both of Cleveland. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Robson; a granddaughter, Stacey Prichard; a brother, William Prichard; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Prichard. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Gardinier Funeral Home Inc., 1315 Chestnut St., Franklin. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with the Rev. Linda Deeter, chaplain of The Caring Place, presiding. Interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 10 West Front St., Oil City, 16301.
