Frances Rose Wisgirda, 76, of Conneaut Lake, passed away, Sunday, August 5, 2012 at Rolling Fields Nursing Home. She was born in Powelton, Pennsylvania on October 17, 1935 a daughter of Elizabeth Ladenburger and Michael J. Walk. She married Donald P. Wisgirda on June 3, 1961, he preceded her in death on July 28, 2008. She was vice president of her 1953 senior class at Saint Agatha School. Frances was employed by American Express as a call center agent for 13 years in Plantation, Florida. She was the youngest of eleven children. She was an avid sports fan, particularly of the Cleveland Indians and the Pittsburgh Steelers and she rarely missed a game. She was also very fond on animals and doted on her two cats, Smokey and Buddy. She loved to travel and had an impressive international doll collection, representing over twenty countries. Frances in survived by two daughters, Mary Beth Wisgirda and her husband Frank Richardson of Houston, Texas and Lori Wisgirda of Conneaut Lake; a son, David Joseph Wisgirda and his wife Nancy of Conneaut Lake; a sister, Virginia Walk of Meadville; two brothers, George Walk and his wife Sylvia of Erie and Ed Walk and his wife Vinnie of Meadville; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her loving husband, Donald of nearly 47 years she was preceded in death by parents, four sisters, and two brothers. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Rolling Fields Nursing Home, Kathy Porter (Mom's "adopted" daughter) and her husband Tracy, and The Baker Family for all they have done. Family and friends are welcome to call on Friday, August 10th from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at Roofner-Collins-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Servies, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville. There will be a graveside service held at Saint Agatha Cemetery Chapel on Saturday, August 11th at 11:00am with Reverend Gregory Giles, officiating. Burial will follow in Saint Agatha Cemetery. FROM TEASING EACH OTHER FOR STARTING YARD WORK TO EARLY IN THE SPRING AND FALL.YOU LOVED RIDING YOUR BIKE AND SMOKEY WOULD ALWAYS COME TO OUR DOOR ASKING FOR YOU ( BUT WE LET HER KNOW YOU WERE ON A BIKE RIDE AND WILL BE BACK SOON). WE LOVED YOUR STORIES OVER THE YEARS. THEY WERE FROM FUN AND TRUE LOVE THAT YOU TWO SHARED TOGETHER. YOU ARE PLANTED IN OUR HEARTS WITH GREAT MEMORIES AND NEIGHBORS/FAMILY.

  3. We miss you “Grandma” Fran. It wont be the same looking at the window and seeing you on your bike. You were a great neighbor and that’s hard to come by these days. We will cherish the memories of you forever. Especially the teasing between you and my parents from the yard work to the flamingos.

  7. I worked with Fran at Continental Bank in the 70’s and we have exchanged Christmas cards for years. I was so sorry to learn of her death. She was the best ever!
