Ethyl Y. Kearney, 97, of Meadville, passed away, on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Meadville Medical Center. She was born on September 10, 1917 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania a daughter of John Wilson and Anna Fenwick Wilson. She married Walter L. Kearney on December 20, 1942. He preceded her on death on February 14, 1998.
Ethyl graduated from Moses Taylor School of Nursing in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
She was employed by Presbyterian Hospital in New York City and retired from Meadville City Hospital after 17 years.
Ethyl was a member of First Baptist Church, K.J.U Sunday School Class, and Nazareth Chapter #252 E.O. Star.
She is survived by daughter, Judith Cerami and her husband Gerald of Meadville; Judith's daughter, Krista Hoffman Tapper and her husband Glenn of Meadville; their children, Colton, Sierra, and Marissa Tapper; Judith's son, Jonn "Ricky" Hoffman and his wife Corin of Sarasota, Florida; their children, Trevor, Connor, and Tylor Hoffman; daughter, Katherine "Kay" Williams and her husband Ronald of Cambridge Springs; their daughter, Allison Williams Shuhayda and her husband Matthew of Saegertown; and her son, Joseph Petrucelli; Kay and Ron's son, Benjamin Williams and his companion Katie Holtz of Cambridge Springs; and his daughter, Apple Williams; step-grandchildren, Lisa Cerami Lancia and her husband Robert of Rochester, New York; and their children, Jeffrey, Mark, and Ryan; Stephanie Cerami of Rochester, New York, Christopher Cerami of Denver, Colorado, and Joshua Williams of New Rochelle, New York; and step-great grandchildren, Alan Shuhayda of Saegertown, Owen Holtz of Cambridge Springs, Kyle Romanski, and Isabella Williams both of New Rochelle, New York.
Family and friends are welcome to call on Wednesday, October 8th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm at Roofner-Collins-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 9th at 10:00am at the funeral home with Pastor Gerald Walton of First Baptist Church, officiating.
Private burial will follow at Greendale Cemetery, Meadville.
