Esther E. Green Esther E. Green, 82, formerly of Sleepy Hollow Drive, Franklin, passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at Sugar Creek Station, where she had resided for the past several years. Born April 11, 1928, in Franklin, Esther was the daughter of the late William and Edna Foster Shawgo. Esther was a graduate of Rocky Grove High School. She married Harold B. Green on December 26, 1947, and he preceded her in death on November 19, 2006. Prior to her retirement, Esther had worked for the County of Venango in the Treasurer's Office at the Courthouse. She had also worked in the Personnel Department at Quaker State. Esther was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church. She loved spending time outdoors, tending to her numerous flower gardens. She loved all animals, especially her dachshund, Ginger. Esther was known for her cooking and baking skills, and especially for her pies. Esther is survived by her two sons, David B. Green and his wife, Susan, of Franklin and Steven B. Green of Polk; and her daughter, Tonya R. Schnoes and her husband, Stephen, of Sedalia, Colorado. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, Johanna Lynn and her husband, Corbin, of Franklin, Paula Hentschel of Franklin, Daniell Wagner of Woodland Park, Colorado, Courtney Wagner-Nechroney and her husband, D.J. , of Denver, Matthew Mazzarella of Durango, Colorado and Adam Mazzarella of Eagle, Colorado, and Amanda Green of Polk; and her six great-grandchildren, Harley and Isabella Lynn of Franklin, Skylar and Luke Hentschel of Franklin, and Aiden and Breanna Wagner of Colorado. Additionally, Esther is survived by her brother, Lloyd Shawgo and his wife, Kay, of Franklin; her sister, Betty Jolley and her husband, William, of San Diego, California; and her special niece, Patricia Shawgo Foust of Orange City, Florida. In addition to her parents, Esther was preceded in death by her three brothers, Russell Shawgo, Edward Shawgo and Clair Shawgo. Family and friends will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin on Saturday, December 4, 2010 from 3 to 7 p.m. Funeral Services for Esther will be held at the Funeral Home on Sunday, December 5 at 1 p.m. with The Rev. Holly Davis, pastor of St. John's Episcopal Church, officiating. Interment will be in Graham Cemetery. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Venango County Humane Society - P.O.
