Emma C. Yoest McClintock Dignan, of Park Avenue Meadville, Pa., formerly of Pittsburgh,PA. and Crawford County areas passed away on June 12, 2005, at Beverly Skilled Nursing in Meadville, Pa.
She was born on November 7, l906 in Pittsburgh, PA., daughter of Joseph A. and Mary Ann (Sponsel) Yoest.
She attended St. Agatha's School and P.C.O.A. Art School. She worked for Keystone View Co., Viscose and Spencer Hospital.
She was a member of St Agatha Roman Catholic Church and of its Altar Rosary Society; Catholic Federation, C.D.of A., Crawford County Cursillo, Springs Manor Aux., AARP, Pro Life Organization. Her enthusiasm for life led her to many hours of volunteering with Springs Manor and Crawford County R.S.V.P. She also enjoyed traveling, painting, antiques, sewing, dancing, reading, cards, bingo, and eating ice cream.
She was preceded in death in l971 by her first husband of 43 years, Robert K. McClintock. Martin J. Dignan, her second husband, who died in 2004; 2 sisters, Marie Mercier and Helen Schaffner, 5 brothers, Elmer, Joseph, Regis, Gerald, and an infant brother George, and a sister-in-law, Ruth Smith.
Survivors include 2 Daughters,
Kathleen McClintock Shugerts of Erie, Pa., Linda McClintock Deignan and her fiance, John Norton of Brick, N.J., 2 Sons,
Robert K. McClintock and his wife Helen Kay of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, James A. McClintock and his wife Dorothy of Landrum, South Carolina, 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Sunday, June 19, 2005 from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM at the Roofner-Collins Funeral Home, 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville, PA. A Vigil Prayer service will be held at ____ on Sunday at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 20, 2005 at St. Agatha Catholic Church, South Main Street, Meadville, with Father Richard Allen as Celebrant. Burial will be at St. Hippolyte Cemetery, Frenchtown, PA.
