Born in: Brownsville, Pennsylvania
Resided in: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Emil John Kravec, a beloved soul from Monroeville, Pennsylvania, will forever be remembered for his laughter, kindness, and dedication to his craft. Born on September 30, 1954, in Brownsville, PA, he lit up the world around him until he took his leave on January 7, 2025, at Corner View Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Emil, a proud graduate of Duquesne University, embraced life as a self-employed licensed electrician, reflecting his passion for the tangible and the technical. He anchored himself in the community and built connections that created a warm tapestry of friendship and love.

He will be dearly missed by his companion of 39 years, Lou Anne Sokolowski, who stood by his side through thick and thin. He is also survived by his loving sister Fran Ferretti (Denny) of Greensburg, PA, and his brother Emrick Kravec (Meg) of North Myrtle Beach, SC. He was preceded in death by his cherished parents, Martha and Emerick Kravec.

Friends and family will gather to celebrate Emil’s life on Friday, January 10th, at Warren-Glenn Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., located at 62 South Main Street in Union City. A calling hour will take place before the heartfelt service at 12:00 PM, led by Father Thomas Whitman. Following the service, we’ll lay Emil to rest at Saint Teresa Cemetery.

In the weeks and years to come, friends stories of his life are shared, we’ll remember Emil not just for how he lived, but for how he made us feel—through a well-timed joke, a helping hand, and a deep love for family and friends. His memory will continue to shine brightly in our hearts.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. We are deeply saddened to hear of my cousin Emil’s passing. I have a lot of fun memories with Emil and all of our cousins in Daisytown when we were growing up. I vividly recall when Emil taught me how to make scrambled eggs “just right” and not too jiggly and not too dry. He was ruthless when we played the board game Risk and we always watched either the Pirates or the Steelers on TV. Although we hadn’t seen him in years, I thought of those Pennsylvania visits a lot with fond memories. I wish we could be there to celebrate his life but send our love and our prayers to you all. Rest in Peace Cuz. Maria (Jancosek) and Roger Arellano

  2. To my loving brother, you will surely be missed by friends & family. Your memories will always live on. You will be in my thoughts & prayers forever. Love you & miss you every day, till we meet again. May God bless you, rest in peace.

  3. A few things about Emil I would like to add – he was very proud of his years of being a volunteer tour guide on the USS Requin (the submarine at the Carnegie Science Center), he practiced yoga for years and he had
an impressive collection of wizards. We went to see Jesus Christ Superstar on June 30, 1985 and were
    together ever since.
“I loved you then, I love you still
    I always have, I always will “
