Edward D. Poloskey, 78, of 10975 Livermore Road, Meadville, passed away suddenly Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008 at Meadville Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 8, 1930 in Meadville, a son of Edward A. Poloskey and Mary S. Holeva Poloskey.
He was retired from Channelock Tool Corp., and had served in the United States Army Corp with the Allied Occupation Forces in the U.S. Zone of Germany.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Gladys Ruth Hecker Poloskey. He is also survived by a daughter, Deborah Ann Poloskey Kight and her husband, Richard M. Kight, and their two sons, Richard M. Kight III and Daniel Edward Kight; and a son, Daniel Edward Poloskey and his two children, Alexander Michael Poloskey and Danielle Elaine (Lanie) Poloskey.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother along with five sisters.
He had a great enthusiasm for life, and dove into and mastered many interests and hobbies. He was an avid cook, gardener, woodworker, winemaker, fisherman and hunter. He passed away of natural causes while hunting, a sport he enjoyed as his favorite. He loved to enjoy the company of his many close and dear friends.
Friends may call to offer their condolences to Ed's family on Tuesday between 6 and 8 p.m. at Roofner-Collins Funeral Home, Chestnut Street, Meadville.
