E. Geraldine "Gerry" Perry, 87, of Saegertown, passed away, Monday, November 26, 2012 at Crawford County Care Center. She was born April 6, 1925 in Meadville, a daughter of Calvin Shorts and Treva Walton Shorts. She married L.G. Perry on August 24, 1956 he preceded her in death on March 29, 2008. She was a graduate of Meadville Area High School and worked the Erie Lackawanna Railroad/Conrail for over 30 years until her retirement in 1984. Geraldine enjoyed golfing, reading, crossword puzzles, fishing, and knitting. She was a member of Allida Smith Wesleyan Methodist Church. Geraldine is survived by a daughter, Chris Kaelin of Saegertown; two grandchildren, Jeff Kaelin and his fiancee Michelle Brooks of Hixson, TN and Barb Altizer and her husband Jamie of Pinkney, MI; two great-grandchildren, Elissabeth Kaelin of California and Alexis Altizer of Pinkney, MI; a brother, Edward Shorts and his wife Bea of Saegertown; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Violet Jennes. Family and friends are welcome to call on Thursday, November 29th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Roofner-Collins-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville. The funeral and committal service will be held on Friday, November 30th at 10:00am with Pastor William R. Peak of Allida Smith Wesleyan Church, officiating. Burial will follow services in Blooming Valley Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Geraldine's memory to AseraCare Hospice, 1600 Peninsula Drive, Erie, PA 16505; or Crawford County Humane Society, 11012 Kennedy Hill Drive, Meadville, PA 16335; or Crawford County Care Center, 20881 State Highway 198, Saegertown, PA 16433.
