E. Geraldine "Gerry" Perry, 87, of Saegertown, passed away, Monday, November 26, 2012 at Crawford County Care Center. She was born April 6, 1925 in Meadville, a daughter of Calvin Shorts and Treva Walton Shorts. She married L.G. Perry on August 24, 1956 he preceded her in death on March 29, 2008.
She was a graduate of Meadville Area High School and worked the Erie Lackawanna Railroad/Conrail for over 30 years until her retirement in 1984.
Geraldine enjoyed golfing, reading, crossword puzzles, fishing, and knitting.
She was a member of Allida Smith Wesleyan Methodist Church.
Geraldine is survived by a daughter, Chris Kaelin of Saegertown; two grandchildren, Jeff Kaelin and his fiancee Michelle Brooks of Hixson, TN and Barb Altizer and her husband Jamie of Pinkney, MI; two great-grandchildren, Elissabeth Kaelin of California and Alexis Altizer of Pinkney, MI; a brother, Edward Shorts and his wife Bea of Saegertown; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Violet Jennes.
Family and friends are welcome to call on Thursday, November 29th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Roofner-Collins-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville. The funeral and committal service will be held on Friday, November 30th at 10:00am with Pastor William R. Peak of Allida Smith Wesleyan Church, officiating.
Burial will follow services in Blooming Valley Cemetery.
