Douglas W. Keller, 80, of Franklin, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 22nd at Sugar Creek Station, where he had resided for the past several years.Born July 30, 1936, in Franklin, Douglas was the son of the late William H. and Adeline McChesney Keller. He married Nancy Wolfe in 1971 and she preceded him in death on July 11, 2015.Mr. Keller resided for most of his adult life on Bully Hill and was a newspaper carrier for Venango Newspapers for more than 30 years. He retired from Oil City Hospital where he worked in the Ultrasound/Nuclear Medicine Department. After retiring, Mr. & Mrs. Keller made their home in Sugarcreek.Doug was an active member of Sugar Creek United Methodist Church where he sang for many years . He also sang with the Venango County Barbertones. He enjoyed coaching little league baseball, fishing, hunting, and was an avid Pittsburgh and Penn State sports fan.Douglas is survived by his children; Kim Green and her husband, Craig, of Erie, Kerry Keller and his wife, Gretchen, of Harrisburg, and Korey Keller and his wife, Melanie, of Erie; and his step-son, Thomas McLaughlin of York, PA. He is additionally survived by his grandchildren, Amie Berlin of Corry, PA, Kyle Green and Kristi Green Bailey of Erie, Gabriel, Miranda, Serena, & Lydia Keller of Harrisburg, and Alexis Keller of Franklin; and his 7 great-grandchildren. Douglas is also survived by his sister, Susan Hricsina of Franklin and her 4 childrenIn addition to his wife and parents, Douglas was preceded in death by his daughter, Cindy Davis, his grandson, Craig Green II; his sister, Saundra Lou Keller; his brother, Billy Keller; and his brother-in-law, John Hricsina.Family and friends will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, on Wednesday, December 28th,, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Funeral Services for Mr. Keller will be held at the Funeral Home following visitation on Wednesday, December 28th, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Karen Kostur, pastor of the Sugarcreek United Methodist Church, officiating. So sorry to hear of his passing. He was a sweet man who was always so kind and gentle. He had a great sense of humor and loved his family deeply. He sure did love his sports teams! Rest in peace.
