Dorothy S. Mesley, 87, of Lindsey Ave. Meadville, passed away peacefully to her eternal rest on November 18, 2010 at Meadville Medical Center. She was born in Guys Mills on December 1, 1922 the daughter of Albert Mailliard and Margaret McHenry Mailliard. She married Thomas Mesley on April 11, 1942, at St. Hippolyte Church in Frenchtown. She took great pleasure in spending time with her family and friends, and enjoyed walking as a physical activity. She will be remembered for her positive, friendly attitude toward everyone she encountered. She was an active member in Saint Agatha Roman Catholic Church for over 40 years, and was in the church choir. She was a lifelong resident of Crawford County and worked at Westinghouse, Spencer Hospital, and a variety of other places in the Meadville Area. In addition to her loving husband of 68 years, Thomas, she is survived by five children: Father Jeri Mesley, of Eunice, LA; Gene Mesley and his wife Kathy, of Vero Beach, FL; Rick Mesley and his wife Vicki, of Paoli, PA; Rita Mesley of Erie, PA; and Dan Mesley and his wife Lana, of Saegertown, PA; 12 grandchildren: Deborah Jones and her husband Brian, of Lehigh Acres, FL; Michael Mesley of Vero Beach, FL; Brenda VanValen and her husband Jim, of Mount Vernon, IA; Rebecca and Sara Mesley of Salt Lake City, UT; Kathleen Robbins and her husband Kelly, of Salt Lake City, UT; Susan Mesley of Vero Beach, FL; Amy Ryer and her husband Edward, of Morris Plains, NJ; Elizabeth Mesley of Paoli, PA; and Joseph, Alex, and Laura Mesley of Saegertown, PA; 10 great grandchildren: Mark, Jefferson, Emma, Alexandra, Samuel, Ava, Benjamin, Andrew, Maysie, and Katherine; a sister, Marjorie; and a brother, Richard. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Robert, Lawrence, Kenneth, Paul, and Eugene Mailliard. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 with a prayer vigil service at 8:30 P.M. at Roofner-Collins-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 A.M. at Saint Agatha Roman Catholic Church, with Father Jeri Mesley, the son of Dorothy, and Father Raymond Gramata of Saint Agatha Roman Catholic Church as Celebrants.   2. My deepest sympathies to Dorothy’s Family. I did not know Dorothy personally but felt I know her through her daughter Rita.
    Losing a parent is a life changing experience. Dorothy is now in the hands of her Father in Heaven.

  10. What a beautiful and precious lady.When she came in to Dr. Petersons office she always made me smile and brightened my day.Dorothy gave me a kiss every time she left. I will miss her. I am so glad that I knew her. She was such a blessing.
