Dorothy Pauline Smith

Dorothy P. Smith, 92, of Shippenville, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at Shippenville Healthcare and Rehabition Center. She was born on November 23, 1930, in Clearfield County, to the late Theodore and Helen (Matty) Knepp. She was a 1948 graduate of Cranberry High School. After graduating, Dorothy was employed by Polk State School Hospital as an Aide where she retired after twenty-three years of service. She was a member of St. Patrick Church and Eastern Star. In her younger years she enjoyed shooting archery and competing in bowling leagues at Seneca Lanes. Dorothy loved owls and became an avid collector of everything owl related. She also enjoyed crafting at Shippenville Heathcare and Rehabilation Center. Dorothy was the last surviving member of her family. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sons, Keith L. Smith, Jr. and Stephen D. Smith; and her siblings, Mary Louise Sopher, Lydia Vandermack, and Theodore Knepp. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at Gardinier-Warren Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, PA 16323 from 10am - 11am with a funeral service immediately following the visitation at 11am at the funeral home. Dorothy will be laid to rest in Crown Crest Memorial Park in Clearfield, Pennsylvania.
